In December 2015, Christie Hoerneman was awarded a "Top Ten of the NextGen" award from the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, which honors an emerging leader who "excels in the business environment, has a passion for community and is innovative in their approach."
Christie is the Head of the Adult Research Department of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library. She brought the FIRST Comic Convention to the region, CRRL-Con, which hosted 1400 participants at the England Run Library in 4 hours! Christie has served as the Multicultural Forum Chair for the Virginia Library Association and creates lively events to bring the library to a larger audience, including The Books and Beer Club at Stafford's Adventure Brewing. She enjoys reading (surprise!), horseback riding and home brewing.
