Library administrators and administrative staff have moved from the third floor of the Fredericksburg Library in downtown Fredericksburg to the Library Administration Center at 125 Olde Greenwich Drive, Suite 160. At the end of May, staff moved into this 12,000-square-foot space adjacent to the pre-existing Library Service Center. Administrative staff are joining collection and digital services staff who have been at this location for ten years. The two spaces are now connected, and the entire 25,000-square-foot complex has become the Library Administration Center.
The new space includes staff offices, training labs, a conference room, and space for administrative services. In the future, customers will be able to pick up holds at this location and shop in a Friends of the Library bookstore.
This relocation is a major step towards achieving the longtime goal of opening the third floor of the downtown Headquarters Library to the public.
